Evolution of punk
The punk trend originated in the 1970's in England during a time of change in culture, fashion, and music. It was a rebellious movement against conformity that was sparked by the new popularity of punk rock music. Some bands in the 1970's and 80's that had an impact on the punk culture were the Ramones and the Sex Pistols. Over the years, the punk trend has evolved and changed in some ways, but overall has maintained it's original roots.
Currently the trend as a whole is in the Introduction stage of the fashion cycle and will most likely not leave this stage. Many innovators are wearing the trend but the mass majority will probably not catch on. Punk accessories have made their way to the growth stage of the fashion cycle while red, plaid pants will never leave the introduction stage.
